Sanyu Richards LLM, LEC
Senior Associate
Sanyu Richards’ main areas of practice are corporate, probate and trusts, and she maintains a keen interest in public law. She has a wealth of experience, having held senior positions in the Attorney General’s Chambers in Uganda and Antigua, and as a Senior Law Lecturer at Coventry University in the UK.
She was Registrar of the Supreme Court and of Companies, Intellectual Property and Land in Antigua for several years. She then moved into private practice, focusing on corporate, contentious probate, and property matters.
First called to the Bar in 1987, Sanyu holds academic and professional qualifications from Makerere University in Uganda, the University of Warwick in the UK, and the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad.
She has been involved with many voluntary and professional organizations over the years at executive level, including FIDA-Uganda, an award winning association of women lawyers, the Citizen’s Advice Bureau in England, and in Antigua, the Environmental Awareness Group, the St. John Association, and the pioneering Wadadli Aquatic Racers. |
